  2. Happy Halloween! I got the last good pumpkin at the farm yesterday. You have reminded me I still need to get candy and decorate the front door. You set a high standard!

My daughter will be Eloise for Halloween. My son is too old to trick or treat. Are your daughters doing anything for Halloween? My daughter was so disappointed that Halloween was small in England - really small: only the smallest children trick or treated. Now she has to make up for that lost year.

  4. Happy Halloween from Texas. It's a beautiful, clear, crisp morning & Halloween festivities will take place downtown for the children this evening.

  6. Happy Halloween!!

I wanted to tell you that Mr. Curry came by your blog and looked around. He then came to me and complained bitterly that you were accidentally living the life we were supposed to be living. ;) He absolutely LOVES your home and surroundings.

  7. Love the ghostly reflection! Living in NY city, Union Square, the sights are going to be very different from those seen in the suburbs like Long Island! Unless you like the hype, be happy you are where you are!

  13. I'm happy to report that we had more than 150 trick or treaters last night ... and that's in a small town in the Thames Valley! Halloween has really caught on here in the UK a big way. I just wish all the costumes weren't all scary ones...

  14. Sorry we didn't officially meet on Thursday night at Dan's reading, but you were pointed out to me. Perhaps we'll run into each other next time.

Happy belated Halloween to you too.

  15. Thanks to everyone who dropped in to say Halloween hellos.

WE have a cauldron of candy left over, because no one would venture down our long gravel drive and confront the skeletons at my door. I wonder why not?

My daughters and their friends drank witch's blood (well, cream of tomato soup, really) and watched X Factor. Simon Cowell is super scary.

  18. Hello! My first visit here...My friend Elizabeth (World Examining Works) recommended I stop by here... and I'm so glad I did. You have such a wonderful variety you share here. I am enjoying reading your recent posts. (Incidentally I'm a great reader of books, and a very carnal book lover. :o) Hope you had a very Spooktacular Halloween!
